October 28, 2015 – HOUSTON, TEXAS – Golden Pass Products today launched the Opportunity Roadmap, an initiative to connect local people and businesses with opportunities created by industrial development in Southeast Texas. The first phase of the Opportunity Roadmap is a Local Business Initiative, which gives local businesses an opportunity to get “pre-screened” to compete for work with the proposed Golden Pass Products liquefied natural gas (LNG) export project.

“The Golden Pass Products LNG export project is expected to create thousands of jobs and generate billions of dollars in business activity,” Eric Pletcher, president of Golden Pass LNG, said. “It’s an opportunity for the area to grow and thrive, and we want to help local businesses be part of it.”

Interested businesses should visit www.goldenpassproducts.com/loc... for details on beginning the application process.

Businesses that successfully complete the pre-screening process will be placed on a list for priority consideration. Golden Pass will provide that list to the project Engineering, Procurement and Construction contractor, who will refer to this list when soliciting vendors and suppliers. Complete applications must be submitted by December 15, 2015 to be considered for this initial list. Applicants are encouraged to initiate the process well in advance of the December 15 deadline to ensure timely completion.

Golden Pass LNG has hired Veriforce, an expert in contractor screening, to facilitate the application process. A Veriforce representative will work with each applicant to provide guidance and assist with completing the application. Golden Pass will cover Veriforce application fees incurred by eligible Jefferson County applicants that submit applications by December 15, 2015. Businesses outside of Jefferson County are encouraged to apply, but are responsible for application fees.

“This program demonstrates Golden Pass LNG’s commitment to Southeast Texas and providing opportunities to local businesses to support its project,” Bill McCoy, Greater Port Arthur Chamber president, said. “Golden Pass is an important partner in Jefferson County and Port Arthur, and its Local Business Initiative is an innovative approach to engaging the local business community.”

The Opportunity Roadmap will include initiatives for businesses, job seekers and others in the community. Other initiatives will be launched in the coming months.

The Golden Pass Products LNG export project is a proposed $10 billion investment to add approximately 15.6 million tons of LNG export capacity per year to the existing Golden Pass LNG import terminal in Sabine Pass, Texas. The project expects to receive FERC authorization in 2016. GPP has received U.S. Department of Energy authorization for exports to Free Trade Agreement countries and is awaiting DOE approval to export to non-FTA nations. Following receipt of all required regulatory approvals and a final investment decision, construction would begin with a view to first LNG as early as 2020.
